Grain-Free Vanilla and Orange Granola
 

Granolas are often packed with sugar and more recently the market has been swarmed with 'healthier' alternatives, however, the sugar content in these granolas are also rather high. Making your own granola at home allows you to adjust the sweetness accordingly. 

DRY INGREDIENTS

300g raw almonds
100g raw sliced almonds
70g raw pecans
200g raw cashews
100g raw brazil nuts
100g desiccated coconut
50g linseeds
25g sesame seeds
100g pumpkin seeds
25g poppy seeds
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp mixed spice

WET INGREDIENTS

zest of 2 large oranges, juice of 1 large orange
2 tbsp coconut oil
Honey (apply to taste)
1 tbsp vanilla paste/ essence

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C
  2. Combine all the dry ingredients.
  3. In a Pan heat the coconut oil until liquid and then combine the rest of the wet ingredients.
  4. Spread out across one or two baking trays and bake for 12-15 minutes. Leave in the oven, with the oven turned off to dry out the granola and give it that added crunch!
  5. Serve with coconut yogurt, almond milk or as an on-the-go snack.
